About Discipline Committee:

The Discipline Committee of Government Women’s College, Balangir works to maintain order, peace, and harmony on campus. The committee ensures that students follow the college’s code of conduct and behave in a manner that upholds the institution’s values of respect, responsibility, and integrity. It aims to foster a disciplined and positive learning environment conducive to academic excellence and character development.

Objectives :
  • To maintain discipline and decorum within the college campus.
  • To ensure adherence to institutional rules and code of conduct by all students.
  • To encourage students to develop self-discipline, respect for others, and civic responsibility.
  • To prevent and address incidents of misconduct or indiscipline among students.
  • To promote a safe, inclusive, and harmonious atmosphere for learning.
Functions:
  • To monitor and regulate student behaviour both inside and outside the classrooms.
  • To inquire into reported cases of indiscipline and recommend appropriate action.
  • To counsel students in maintaining ethical standards and responsible conduct.
  • To coordinate with faculty, administrative staff, and student bodies to uphold discipline.
  • To organize awareness sessions on values, ethics, and college discipline policies.

About Anti-Ragging Cell:

The Anti-Ragging Cell of Government Women’s College, Balangir is established in accordance with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009. The Cell is committed to ensuring a ragging-free campus where every student feels safe, respected, and supported. It promotes awareness about the ill effects of ragging and takes strict measures to prevent, detect, and address any such incidents.

Objectives :
  • To prevent any form of ragging within and outside the college campus.
  • To create an environment of mutual respect and dignity among students.
  • To educate students about the legal and disciplinary consequences of ragging.
  • To encourage students to report any incidents of ragging without fear.
  • To ensure the safety and well-being of all students, particularly newcomers.
Functions:
  • To display anti-ragging rules, helpline numbers, and awareness posters across the campus.
  • To organize orientation and sensitization programs for students and staff.
  • To receive and address complaints related to ragging promptly and confidentially.
  • To take disciplinary action as per UGC and institutional regulations against offenders.
  • To coordinate with the UGC Anti-Ragging Helpline and local authorities whenever necessary.
  • To submit reports to the principal and concerned authorities on preventive measures and cases handled.
