SC/ST RIGHTS COMMITTEE & EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL


About the Committee :

The college is committed to promoting equality, social justice, and inclusion for students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). In line with UGC guidelines, the SC/ST Rights Protection Committee and Equal Opportunity Cell have been constituted to safeguard the rights of SC/ST students, address their grievances, and ensure equal opportunities in academic and co-curricular activities. These committees also work to create awareness about human values, social harmony, and respect for all, irrespective of caste, creed, or gender.

Objectives :
  • To safeguard the rights and interests of SC/ST students within the institution.
  • To ensure equal opportunity and fair treatment in academic and administrative matters.
  • To prevent and address any form of discrimination or harassment based on caste or tribe.
  • To create awareness about constitutional provisions and human rights among students.
  • To provide guidance, support, and counselling to SC/ST students for their academic and personal development.
  • To implement UGC and government directives related to the welfare of SC/ST communities.
Functions:
  • To monitor the implementation of policies and programs for the welfare of SC/ST students.
  • To receive and address grievances related to caste-based discrimination or unfair treatment.
  • To organize awareness programs, workshops, and counselling sessions on equality and social justice.
  • To assist SC/ST students in availing scholarships, fellowships, and other welfare schemes.
  • To liaise with the UGC and other concerned authorities on matters related to SC/ST welfare.
  • To submit periodic reports on activities and progress to the college administration.
